John and Debby Oxley
John C. and Debby Oxley gained national attention as owners of 2001 Kentucky Derby champion Monarchos. They were prominent again on the 2002 Derby Trail with Booklet, who captured the Holy Bull and Fountain of Youth Stakes early in the season and ran in the Preakness.
John has been a Thoroughbred owner for 35 years. He currently owns 55 brood-mares that reside at their Fawn Leap Farm in Midway, Kentucky.
John was born January 24, 1937 in Tulsa, OK. He is owner and president of Oxley Resources, an oil and gas exploration company based in his hometown. The Oxleys have homes in Florida, Kentucky and Colorado, and have three grown children, Randy, Mary Anne and Tracey. John is a member and steward of the Jockey Club.
John Oxley is an active polo player and is the former chairman of the United States Polo Association. He was inducted into the Polo Hall of Fame in 2005. He and his brother, Thomas E. Oxley, own the Royal Palm Polo Club in Boca Raton, FL. Their father, John T. Oxley, was also a Hall of Fame polo player.
Debby Oxley raced Darling My Darling and graded stakes placed and grade 1 winner, Forest Secrets.
